Lately there's been dozens of I.C.C.S./C.C.C.S. cross-graded Canadian coins in hard slabs popping up on E-bay. It's the first time in 10 years I've ever seen this amount of coins cross-graded by two major Canadian T.P.G.'s. All are beautiful high graded and fit the bill right to the grade suggested on the Certificate's~I.M.H.O. Does anyone here have any insight on this? Glenn

I suspect Colonial Acres purchased a collection a CCCS holders. They decided to cross grade them, probably easier to sell them to their usual clientele.

Speaking of Colonial Acres, wondering if someone or better yet, all of You can give me an opinion on a coin! There is an I.C.C.S., Canada, 1905 , EF-45 , half dollar for sale on the Colonial Acres website. I'm interested in making the purchase, however, I'd love another opinion on the coin (poor scan of coin). Please view it at the location specified and tell me what you think! Glenn

Colonial Acres always uses scans,(what few they show photos of) scans are never good enough to grade coins. This particular one doesn't look EF-40 but like I said it's a scan, and the price seems too high for the looks of that coin.

Colonial Acres is also putting out a few PCGS cross graded with ICCS hard slabs periodically.

Hello Everyone :)
To shed some light on this topic in regards to the large number of CCCS/ICCS cross graded coins you have noticed on our website lately. We recently negotiated a larger deal where the original owner had all his coins graded by ICCS but preferred the hard plastic holders offered by CCCS. He got all his coins transferred into CCCS Holders and when he decided he wanted to sell his collection it was strongly recommended by us as a dealer to have them cross graded by ICCS. This is a big help as a seller to sell of his coins. Since all the coins were originally in ICCS holders almost all coins came back with matching grades.
As always feel free to email or call us at the store and we will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. :)

Hello everyone
I do not have much time to read the forum, but do on rare occasion and saw this post. What Colonial have stated about the coins being ICCS transferred to CCCS hard casing than cross graded is true but a part is not stated. Only the coins which we agreed with the grade where transferred to our hard slab and that from ICCS/PCGS/NGC/ANACS holders. those that did not meet our standard where returned untouched to the owner, about 15 to 20% of the collection.
It is a very nice collection and should be purchase with confidence. good day all.
