Many of us have observed how shortly after we make a PM purchase the spot value of what we just bought will take a nosedive, and I'm one of those many. Well, it just happened AGAIN! I bought 15 Libertads on Sunday and exactly 48 hours after I made that buy, silver spot had dropped from $33.44 down to $32.90. At least this time it was only down half a dollar--sometimes it drops closer to a full dollar (generally after one of my larger purchases).

I'm thinking about selling a subscription Email service notifying subscribers of when I make my buys, so they could wait a day or two and then capitalize on the dependable spot value nosedives that follow my purchases like a faithful old dog.

This may be a natural part of how stacking bullion goes, but I'm still having a little difficulty warming up to this one. Oh, well--at least it's on its way back up from the 48hr point...

FF,
The problem is the same thing happens when I buy. If I buy 2 days after you then I should start a service to alert people to buy 2 days after me.

I tried to trick the system and acted like I bought one time but that didn't work. It still dropped after I made the actual buy.

Yep, we've probably all been there at one time or another. I still think I hold the current record, though:

Well, I know what to say... Barry... GREAT JOB! Buying that 100-oz. bar when you did looks pretty smart at today's prices.

Buying PMs is not a science. It really is more of an art. As with stock buying, we almost never buy at the very bottom or sell at the very top. The good news is that we do not have to do that in order to make some serious money. After investing for 36 years, I think that I have done this twice. The rest of the time is more like buying near lows and selling near highs, at best. Heck, I once bought 1000 shares of Apple computer and was thrilled when it doubled from $10 to $20 a share... so I sold it at a good profit. Keeping it for the next 20 or so years would have been WAY more profitable but who knew? Never regret making a profit, even a small one.

Just keep buying while it is on it's way down. That is what I do anyway. Anything below $35 am I am in, the closer to $20 the better.

Tim... do you think that we will see $20 again, given all the financial problems in the world today as well as silver production problems & costs?

Prices will probably come down again when some 'paper' silver comes due again!

It's a coincidental and funny thing to see this thread reawaken again today...

After my 12/2 buy, the silver spot took a dive that it hasn't yet come back up from. I made another buy today (at a spot of $33.19) just before the 12:20pm-1:00pm jump (and that jump made me want to SING!) but then--in the blink of an eye, it dropped like a rock back down to the $32.80's range (nearly 40 cents under what I bought in at). Just like right after my Sunday 12/2 buy!

WOW! Every time! It never fails! I make a buy and spot plummets! Keep your eyes peeled for my upcoming Email subscription service so you can know when I make my buys!

I'm thinking about naming my newsletter "The Silver Stackers Best Friend."

Down over a dollar this morning into the ($32.60's). Saw it coming. Just picked up a roll of Peace and Morgan's at the high on Wednesday.
