For around 14k, you can have one! Who's in?! It's only 14k gold @ 25.x grams.

Aside from its meticulous rendition in gold, this brick is extremely rare as it was part of a collection that was only given out a few times a year from 1979-1981. They were gifts to business partners or employees that had racked up 25 years of service in the German brick factory. So if you feel like parting with your car or defaulting on your student loans, the gold LEGO can be yours for $14,450.

That's cool...it would be fun to get one made--it's not a terribly complex shape.
Just as an FYI, LEGO is based in Denmark.

i dunno...seems a bit complex. That gold is hollowed underneith just like the actual lego and can actually connect like legos do. Thats pretty tech!

I know jewelers who could do this pretty accurately with lost-wax casting.

Be the first in you neighborhood to have a silver house. Then your three year old can share them with the rest of the area.

The fun should start when you show up at the door wanting back your kid's gift to their kid. Mediation should be a hoot.

So did I read that correctly that it is only 25 grams in weight. At 14 plus k that is some serious premium at over 1400 percent lol.....

She said it would be fairly easy to do. She would have to make the mould to be exact like an original lego. After that, its something about 8hrs in the kiln and then about a few hours to clean and polish it all up. Not sure of price yet since she is swamped right now....but when things calm down I will get other details and let you all know. With the price of silver and amount of silver needed to make 1 block being so small....plus the time it would take to make and clean and polish, this obviously would be a fad, collector thing...not investment. But like I said I will let you know. I'm curious though how much its gonna cost to make? Any guesses?

They would have to be stack-able

how much would the average stacker be willing to pay over premium for one of these?

I have made it clear that they need to be exact repicas and need to stack like normal lego blocks.
