One of my last purchases on
ebay before calling it quits was a Error Note from Pakistan, a series 2006 1000 Rupees note printed with 2 sets of Serial Numbers, #D7001503 printed over #D6526564 (Top Note), and the only drawback I found with this note was the number "63" that someone had marked in blue ink. At the time this was my 1st double serial number error and may had overpaid at $31.00 total...
Low & behold, two weeks later this same seller lists another 1000 Rupees Double Serial Number error on
ebay...
After seeing this, I was not a happy camper as I would never had purchased the previous ink marked note, and contacted the seller (living in Texas) via telephone... I mentioned that I had just purchased his last error note and wanted to know exactly how many were available for sale.
He replied that he had purchased 10 of these error notes in Pakistan prior to going back to Texas, and this was his last note...
When I zoomed in on this second note, I not only noticed the different serial numbers, but this note also had 2 different prefix letters [#E1620666 over #D7390680] (something I had never seen on this type of error) and not that visible in the normal photo (
ebay didn't have the zoom option back then that exists now)..
The bidding was strong the last minute and I ended up receiving this at $83.00 (total)-[jumped over 50 Dollars in the last minute]...
Upon closer examination, this Choice to Gem Note has 2 sets of Staple Marks when viewed over light. I know it's common to staple notes for Bank use, but have never seen a note in this condition with 2 staple marks in different locations...
The 1st note had no staple marks, yet showed some type of counting marks, whereas the stapled note was a clean note.
Not knowing what the retail value is for these notes, I purchased "World Paper Money Errors" by M.C. Fischer, and found the same type of error on a Pakistan 10 Rupees (with the SAME prefix letter) valued between $400.00 to $600.00 in uncirculated condition... In my opinion, the values listed in this book fall under the category of "Wishful Thinking".
Since CCF is a Global Site, maybe some CCF Members in that Region can provide some current information on these Pakistan errors due to the wide spread of the two printed Serial Numbers
