Ok so one of my friends found out I collect coins and has been telling me that he and his grandma have a bunch of silver dollars but after a year of not seeing them I really doubted him and lost all hope until he said for me to look at his grandmas collection so I go over and little do I behold but over 50 silver dollars and a giant box full of miscellaneous coins!! As I'm looking over them I see a bunch of different styles half of the silver dollars are Morgan's and half are peace and as I'm looking the Morgan's over there is a 1878 double tail feather which I thought to be cool but then craziness hit me I flip over a 1890 and BOOM it's a cc!! I just stared at it for like 20 min thinking wow glad I looked at the collection. So the big box had 20 1964 UNC Kennedy's a barber half some Franklin halfs and like 10 silver dimes and just a bunch of wheat pennies and other normal change.but she also had some military payment certificates that her dad got from ww2 but I knew nothing on those do I couldn't give her a value on those and she had a booklet that during ww2 people would put stamps in and save for defensive efforts it says "postal savings plan for the purchase of United States savings bonds" she was told by someone else that it is very rare so I told her I would check it. And she had a bunch of other militaria that her dad had during ww2 like a German Mauser that was in pristine shape I mean unbelievablely good shape the bluing is perfect and the story is even better but most of you don't care about that. So at the end of it she says here you go and just gives me a 1890-O Morgan for free! I tryed to give her some money but wouldn't take any and we'll I got some pics that I can post later after I figure out how with the iPhone... Every time I post more than one pic it overrides all the pics and just posts one? Anyone know how to change this? Just thought that I'd share this story with you guys because I was so excited

i LOVE old people. wish I was one, would be nice to make hundreds off a random box hidden in a closet for hundreds of years, might throw a 1/2 oz AGE in my closet and leave it for a decade!

Yea I walked in and she was like are these what you want to look at? I was like wow heck yea I wanna look at them! They covered the entire table!! But I totally agree old people rock! And I hope that I can see my friends collection now that I know he actually has coins I asked him to tell me some dates and to point some out from my Red Book and he pointed out peace, Morgan, trade, and Seated Liberty dollars which he said that he has more silver dollars then his grandma and has some gold dollars! I hope that they are all real

Of note, on the Mauser, do they have the "bring back papers" with it? If so, this at least doubled or tripled the value of this rifle.

I should have been more specific on it the Mauser is a pistol not a rifle and yes she has all the documentation and it works I think it was last fired a couple years ago but when her dad was in ww2 he was on d-day and once the boat opened to the beach they all started running his gun had fallen in water and didn't work so he put it down and went with his knifes and ended up killing a German taking his Mauser and running up to the bunkers where he killed many more Germans then sadly a grenade went off next to him destroying his legs but its crazy because he was a bridge engineer and got mistaken and accidentally went with the army and accidentally ended up on d-day and barely survived it!! True American hero!!
