I just realized I forgot to get a picture of the obverse but all the action is on the reverse. What do you guys think about this one? If not a clash then what is this? Thanks for the help.

Not a clash, it is a form of die wear termed "heavy design transfer" or "progressive indirect design transfer".

Biokemist6 would you mind elaborating on that. I have not heard of this before.

Repeated pounding by the hammer on a planchet as it sits on the anvil causes the anvil to wear leaving a "shadow image of the bust on the anvil. This may not be 100% accurate but it is how I understand it.

I have seen a lot of these, just not so profound.

I found this web site and it shows/describes this variation/error. Mine is much more pronounced.

Nice examples are desirable. I saw one sell for $20 on ebay recently. Yours is nice.

Thanks for the heads up. And I just found another one only not as pronounced as the first coin. Same date too. I added the first one to the bank vault collection. One of these days I need to go to the bank and get an inventory plus photograph some more images to share with my friends/CCF.

Look for ghost images of the wheat stalks on the obverse. Not as plentiful be dramatic when you find them. I'm doing inventory now too. Takes time. Have fun!
