I found this and am wondering if I'm missing something? I know it's a star note but that price is ridiculous!

Sellers description states that this is the best know example of a key bill from a rare series.

I do not have the knowledge of bills to judge those claims ... the experts will be along shortly to clarify.

The 1934 North Africa note is scarce enough but the star is ridiculously rare. This is not the more common 1934A.

You also have to understand the seller who is known for hyperbole in his auction descriptions and prices. It is part of his marketing strategy.

The seller is also known for accepting reasonable offers. Knock a few thousand off that price and make an offer lol.

Ok thank you I didn't even notice it was a 1934 not a 1934-a I looked up the price in "paper money of the United States" and it rodent even give a price it just says unique so I'm guessing that it must be pretty rare

The book I have doesn't even have a price it just says unique for a Fr. 2308*. That said if it was really that valuable I would probably be using Lynn Knight or Heritage Auctions instead of ebay. I wonder how you insure something that valuable when shipping.

I believe a similar * note sold via Heritage of $120,000 in 2006. Same grade.
