Sorry no pics, coin too shiny.

I have a 1974 that looks like it has been re-plated with something. it has a real bright shine like a new chrome bumper and you can see where some of the plating has come off, just small spots.

Now when I put the magnet to it, it sticks just lightly. To my eye it is just like the other 5 I have except for the re-plate job.

Can this be cause by the plating? If not my first fake.

Whats the weight? Can you see the copper on the edge? It is likely just plated, I would have a hard time believing someone would fake a common date kennedy. If you cannot see the copper on the edge, I would take some sand paper and rub the edge down it untill you can. This will prove it is just plated if that is the case.

Weight - you won't believe this my scale broke down yesterday, on the net now trying to find a new one.

Forgot about looking for copper, yes you can see copper on the edge.

My ? still is what type of plating would make it megnetic?
