About two month's ago I started a collection of dime from 1965 onward without the San Franscisco mintmark strictly from what I could find in circulating coins (an selecting the best that I saw). Well as of today I have all such coins with the exception of 2009d and 2010d coins. I also found 7 silver dimes during the course of my search. One of the extraordinary finds that I did come across was the 1946 dime (first of the series).
In order to find these coins I went through 65 rolls. Which I think was a remarkedly short count. I was sort of expeting to go throuh more rolls than that.
In Addition to these coins mentioned I also ran in 45 coins from 2009 which I believe is remarkable because of the number of coins minted during that year.
I intend to keep this going and will try to pull the remaining 2 post-'65 coins I need and will keep looking for additional silver.
Since I don't have any guarter collection prior to the Statehoods, I'm thinking that my next effort is going to be those quarters before the
State Quarters and seeing what I can do there (again no looking for the San Francisco mintmark).
