As I was looking through the local paper I noticed this add for Littleton Coin Company. They had 20 UNC president dollars for 19.99. I didn't see a catch so I ordered it, got them today. They actually look great, came with a folder and wrapped very well. The thing that they tried to get the money on is a "trial" where they sent me 4 or 5 coins worth about 10$ and said I could get it for a great deal of 24.95 or could simply return. I guess you just have to keep your eyes peeled for those small scores.

Littleton Coin Co. has these introductory deals that are good deals but then they will start auto-shipping you coins so you have to make sure to either send them back or cancel your "subscription".

A few weeks back they had a deal for ASE at spot that a lot of members here jumped on. I don't know if there is a length of wait before you can be considered for another introductory deal or not.

The ONLY things I bought from Littleton were their teaser ad coins for face or near face value, and that 2012 eagle for near melt a couple weeks ago. Every time they sent the "trial" coins I just sent them back without purchase because they are unbelievably ridiculously too expensive. They usually don't send them again.

The last offer I took advantage of was their offer for the 50 state and the territory quarters for face value. There was a letter in the box stating that these offers were meant for new customers and I this was the last one they would honor. No problem. I just set up an account in a family member's name and address and if I see any others I like later, I'll just get them that way.

Glad to know the coins are in great condition.

It was actually finding and ordering one of these Littlecoin ads that re-sparked my child coin collecting. I am still waiting to get my coins and am expecting the additional coins I plan to return. Do they continue to send coins or, like you said, will it stop after I return the first batch.

I am going to be out of the country for a few months and don't want a back-log of coins I am being charged for overpriced!

These are loss leader type ads. They spend a forune on the ads, lose money on the loss leaders but hope to grab a small percent as customers. I think just getting a few people to buy the next lot they send is enough for them to make the profit.

Interesting... I don't know if they have me as any sort of returning customer, but they sure did get me back interested in my coins again! I thank them for that (And that one sweet deal!).

I get the trial coins all the time but I'm not paying 50$ for 20$ worth of coins so I just send them back. haha
