Good grief, you all just can't be satisfied.
2011... limits suck! We could not get our fair share! It was a debacle and the mint should be burned to the ground!
2012... to much time! I did not get my unlimited number of sets the next day! I had to wait a month! It was a debacle and the mint should be burned to the ground!

Really? And some people had to send them back and get new sets. So? Stuff happens. The mint takes them back until you are happy. But I guess there is some kind of crticism to be found in that too.

Frankly I had no issue with either 2011 or 2012. You can't make everyone happy with how they deal with ASEs, but I was satisfied with both sets and the amount of them I was able to obtain. It was kind of fun getting in on the 2011 set though before they ran out. :-)

I wasnt on here in 2011 and did end up missing out on that one, but I had no problem with it. Id be perfectly happy if they were a little more like the Perth Mint, lots of options with a low mintage on almost everything.

(although "fun" is stretching it a wee bit)

Got to CCF right as the '12 set was being announced, it's what got me deeper into the hobby. Definitely in for one or two of the '13 ASE set.

I love the RP but wouldn't mind if they take some time off after this one.

I also really liked the mint to order approach for the '12 set. I understand the scarcity argument for capping the numbers in limited sets but the idea of a one day rush to get in puts a harsh buzz on my pleasant time hobby.

Hope pricing comes in < $150 but I have no illusions. Knowing they'll be from West Point and expected to be of higher quality may push me to get three this time around.

Mint Purchases planned for 2013:

2013 West Point ASE set x2?
Proof & Burnished ASE
2012 Silver Proof Set
5 Star General set minus the gold (never say never...)

I definitely understand that. A limit would be nice though for reasons other than rarity. Ordering in the summer to get your coins in October wasnt fun.

My guess would be the actual collector demand is around 150k, its very obvious a significant amount of last years sets were bought with the sole intention of resale. It was a very nice set though if you got a good one

I wouldn't be surprised if they try to sell this new set for even more of a mark up. Since they already raised the cost of the other ASE coins, I am sure they will raise this set up above the $149.95 mark. Hopefully not more than $10, but we shall see. As always it will depend on where the price of Ag is at the time they announce the cost. I am surprised they didn't already come out with a price, they didn't have any issues coming out with early pricing for the individual ASEs. Of couse we still don't know exactly what the uncirculated coin is going to be like other than it will be different than the standard "W" version. But still that shouldn't really make a difference in the cost of the set ( I wouldn't think ).
