I am just trying to figure out how many ASEs I am going to have to buy next year to make sure I have one of each. So how many different ASEs will there be in 2013?

Let's see:
1. Bullion 2. Proof West Point 3. Burnished West Point 4. Reverse proof West Point (more than likely)
I would like to see a Denver minted coin.

Rumor is both west point coins will be unique so that would imply 4 so far

OK, I thought there might be 5....do I have something wrong?
1. Bullion 2. Proof West Point 3. Burnished West Point 4. Reverse proof West Point (more than likely) 5. An uncirculated version that will differ from the regular uncirculated version with the "W" mintmark in the West Point set

The only 'difference' on the West Point burnished special ASE might be a privy mark. Look at the reverse of the proof platinum eagle 2012. Dunno if I would buy another eagle with a 1mm mark somewhere on it.

Well we have had the last two years with five different ASE's. We should now expect five this year too.

It kind of makes you wonder how they will make that other coin unique in the West Point set. Do you think will do something they have never done before or recycle some type that has been used in the past?

Everything but business strikes are uncirculated, and even those are not really " circulated "
The West Point set will include a regular ( not proof, burnished, satin ) uncirculated, but will be unique. Probably with a W mint mark

I was thinking the same as you ant024. The uncirculated "burnished" coin you obtain from the mint will have a W mint mark. There will be two "uncirculated" mint sold coins, along with one bullion and two proofs. The mint said the uncirculated coin in the West Point set will be different than the regular uncirculated (burnished) version with the W mintmark. So they are going to make this new uncirculated version be different than the burnished version with the W mint mark. We just don't know at this point how the mint will make this coin different in the set. All we know is it will be "uncirculated". We don't know if it will be burnished or not. I would assume it will have a W mintmark on it. Maybe they will make a slight change on it, who knows, it will just be different is all I know.

Don't forget we will probably see the slabbed 2013 (S) bullion version as well.

They will also sell slabs without identifying the mint they came from. If you want to collect all pedigrees that were certified, that works out to 7. 2012 was 8.
