I was thinking about doing a run on Morgan's, with one of each year, NOT one of each mint mark. Are there any sticky years?

Eminently doable. Independent of grade, you'll find 1892-1895 to be the most...um..."fun." If, that is, you define "fun" as "spending money."

I put together date sets frequently. It's not too difficult if you don't mind mixing mint marks. I usually do circulated sets because I like the looks of VF-XF coin. If you stay in this range most of the dates can be located in the bullion bin. It's up to you to pick out the no problem coins. The 1893 and 1895 will be the higher cost items regardless of the mint. If you use a dansco you may have to locate a CC Morgan to fill the hole. nlp

Very easy to do with the exception of the 93 and 95. You will find that these 2 years are the hardest to find in a decent grade at an affordable price. Look at spending north of $1500 for the pair if you push the VF range. I have put together a Year Set of Large Dollars starting with the Morgan's and going up to the 78 Ike. I call it 100 years of Dollars. the only 2 I am missing is the 93 and 95. I am holding off on those until I have the money set aside for something in the high VF to low XF range.

I completed a Morgan dollar Date set in Dansco album 7171
then changed over to a full set this past year.

Ok, so I am going to have to leave two holes in the set. That is reasonable. I have never been one to care about varieties or mint marks. For me, a "run" is one of each coin for each year the coin was produced. Perfect, the Morgans are peculiar around here in that they can be acquired for close to bullion, yet they are very easy to sell if I ever decide to jettison.

Thanks guys, I am 5-6 in to my run now, I just needed reassurance. Two problem coins is much more reasonable than what I originally wanted to do, a Canadian Silver Dollar run.....
