Maybe he's redoing his pictures?

Honestly, I'm surprised no one has commented on his quality of pictures.

Again I have to say, no one can accurately grade his coins from those highly reflective pictures and we're not talking about $20 coins here.

There are some very nice coins of high value, but I not only hesitate in buying, I totally refuse to buy based on the lack of detail of his pictures.

Not sure if I would make a purchase from a seller selling NNC slobbered coins to be honest.

I get that part Artdio, but that's not really my point. My point is, at what point do we have to as a community, call bs, bs? PT Barnum was and will continue to be right. There is a sucker born every minute. I was one and I'm sure you've been one too at some point.
As a dealer, (and I know scruples are hard to come by) one has to have, or at least, is supposed to have some kind of duty to weed out this kind of stuff.

I'm not trying to flame anyone here, but I don't want to sit idly by chatting about different ripoffs on ebay, when like I said before, we can call bs and maybe people will catch on.

Merry Christmas all.

The added problem with buying NNC coins is sometimes there's fairly large rim damage that can't be seen due to the holder.

This would never happen with PCGS or NGC graded coins.

I'd like to add One more comment.

I really don't like being critical of someone else but in this case here goes....

I've just checked 'cameron93''s ebay sales and have itemized them in order of 'highest priced'

The top five in my estimation of grossly overpriced for their condition.

To the order of 3x to 5x their actual value.

Coin #1 an 1875H dime that most likely would grade at best vf30 is priced astronomically high.

Coin #2 an 1881H dime that looks to be only au55 to au55 and is priced through the roof.

Next is an 1884 5c that at best is ef40.

and a second 1875-H dime that looks like it's been through an acid bath and has a huge scratch on it, yet it is priced like it is being sold at Tiffany's.

Let me also add that I was trying to grade these, I was thoroughly and completely frustrated at trying to grade these coins because they were: full of glare, too many pictures supplied to find the right one; and more to the point, the 300X magnification (or so it seemed) made it impossible to grade quickly).

You just can't expect to sell a RAW coin at full grade and full price (actually many times a full retail price).

I apologise Cameron for my critical view but that's the way I see it.

Excellent reply cameron93.

I also do alot of buying and selling on ebay and sometime I'm put off by the negative comments posted by others in regards to ebay listings. I guess I've always done my own homework and just wouldn't purchase anything from a seller that I didn't feel was being up front and honest but would never post links to their auctions pointing out what I thought were errors.

To each is own. I've been fortunate enough to not have come under attack yet for one of my listings, but I also have pride in what I do and sales and feedback speak for themselves.

I think this is an excellent forum for discussion, learning and education from some of the great people on this forum. In all honesty, when I see someone post a link just to put a seller down, I just ignore those forums and move on to the ones that I learn from.

Cameron93, have you ever considered having your coins slabbed by I.C.C.S. or C.C.C.S.? Selling expensive raw coins inexcess of $500.00 is usually difficult to do. I like many of your coins and would make the purchase, but hard to determine an objective grade from a scan/photo.
Unless coins are listed with "No Reserve" and have a starting price of $1.00 over the duration of an auction, few will be tempted to make the purchase near full trends such as your coins are listed.

Hi everyone,

DBM... that's my boy's site... helping him generate some funds for heading off to university next fall... :)

Re some of the other comments and posts...

Since stumbling onto the Forum about a year ago I have really enjoyed reading the interchanges on CCF that run the gamut between a variety of intelligent well-thought-out and respectfully written posts, sometimes very comical and good-humour banter, and occasionally stuff that borders on being absurd, small-minded, and inflammatory.

I value constructive criticism guys and am always looking for ways to gain knowledge and improve my business...really though, I'm doing quite well with my ebay business, and unless it's warranted I'm not sure that all the unsolicited advice about how I take my pictures, or price my items, or whether or not I should get my coins graded fits in with the "spirit" of the forum.

I haven't asked for this advice... I haven't expressed that I am having any problems with taking photos or that it's been difficult to sell raw coins. Quite the contrary... over the past 6 years I've bought and sold several hundred thousand dollars worth of coins on and off ebay...

I often get comments from people on ebay about how good my pictures are... I have a 100% positive feedback... and the comments I get from buyers attest to how satisfied they are with the quality of coins they have purchased, as well as my customer service. I offer full money-back refund guarantee if customer is not happy, and have only had to refund one time.

As mentioned in a previous post there's a significant portion of the coin collecting market that is interested in buying raw coins... that's the segment of the market that I cater to... and I seem to be doing ok with that.

Re NNC slabbed coins... there was a time when the seller of these coins not only had the current habit of over-grading coins, but occasionally was on the mark, and sometimes surprisingly under the grade... I HAVE cracked out all of the examples that were not accurate... my listings state that, and again I offer refund if buyer is not happy.

As to my pricing strategy... all of my listings are open to offers... I have found that us coin collectors love to bargain and make deals... this is something that I enjoy and am open to. We can all throw around opinions about what grade a coin might be, and this is a part of the hobby that I think attracts many of us to that analytical challenge... but most would agree that it's more of an art than a science... and "one mans garbage is another man's treasure."

I do not offer an opinion of grade in my ebay listings, but post lots of pictures along with accurate descriptions which disclose any noticeable flaws in coin.

I haven't got enough posts as a new CCF member yet to answer you all personally which I would if I could... if anyone wants to contact me by email I'm at <<<email address removed by Tights24. Sorry, spam bots love this. Please use the forum email system.>>>

I've had many forum members contact me on ebay and say that they feel some of the comments and posts on CCF have not been appropriate... I realize and accept the proverbial "can't please all the people all the time"... but I try my best.

I always try to conduct myself in an ethical and respectful manner... Glenzy can tell you a story sometime if he wants about my reaction and generous response when a coin I bought from him didn't make it through the mail to me...

Anyhow,... enough said... I feel that I've got a lot of knowledge and experience to contribute to this Forum and hope to earn your respect as a valuable contributor as time goes by.

Hope you're all having a very nice Christmas... Best Wishes for a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year!
