Rediculous isn't it....Just because someone saved up soooo much, the government takes more. Crooks.

This story screams "Make sure your heirs know where your stash is and that they know enough to keep their mouths shut about it" as loudly as any other similar story I've ever seen.

Public knowledge ensures the absolute certainty of full federal and state involvement and taxation.

Uncle Stu - missed you at the last family reunion. I'll be sure to check in with cousin Sharon and talk about old times. I think she'll be surprised to see me.

I'll pay the taxes anytime someone wants to leave me $7 million in coins. I'd even pay a little extra.

I hope she is smart enough to send the coins to PCGS, have them graded and slabbed. Sending in that much would give her the ability to name the collection/hoard. Auction off some to pay the taxes and cost of grading and see what happens to the others.

I agree. I would not complain one bit, even if they took half, because that is still a lot of money to me.

Heck, that's only 11%. Chances are most of us pay a higher tax rate.

I'm still wondering why this report has shown up as "news"? The guy died and this was originally reported back on Sept 17th. Why has it turned up again?
