So I decided to send PCGS a email and see if I would get their take on this subject. Here is their response. I just wanted to share. I removed the name and contact info for privacy issues.

Good Morning,

Thank you for contacting PCGS customer service.

Lamination is when part of the planchet is flaking, but it's still attached. Delamination is when it becomes detached. However, we usually use the term "detached lamination" instead of "delamination" when describing these errors. These coins are considered mint error and will need to go under a mint error service.

Please let me know if I can further assist you.

Thank you,

PCGS Customer Service

I agree with PCGS.
Now we can throw out the term "Lamination Peel" also.

By the way, who are these three little sadistic characters ?

Not Vegans, that's for sure
I realize it's supposed to be BDH
But whipping and biting ?

So DE-lamination is short for DEtached-Lamination

Rest in Peace

Use it for the piece that falls off...I've seen a few where people had saved them.

Ya, what the heck. Might as well save the peels also.
Can throw em in with the carrots, potatoes, orange peels etc.

Jaymon-that guy is trying to knock the guy with the cauldron of the wall by banging his head against it.

In other words, I agree with PCGS too
