I knew a couple of states have special ABC (alcohol beverage control) store. Taxes have been included in the price. So the stores can set the price at 0.5 or whole dollar amount for convenience. They do order boxes of halves for daily exchange. I once came across one store in a very small town. They doposit the halve rolls when they don't need a lot. They request the halve rolls when they need more. They don't use quarter, dime, nickel, and penny. I found 40%ers in their rolls. The bank who handle their halves insist me bring them back after I searched.
