So I recently counted my War Nickels from roll searching, and found that I had more than in my signature. In fact I have found exactly 81 from roll hunting. This breakdown is from 96 boxes of nickels. Dates 1942-P.....6 1942-S.....2 1943-P.....33 (no surprise here) 1943-D.....1 1943-S.....5 1944-P.....15 1944-D.....0 1944-S.....2 1945-P.....11 1945-S.....5 1945-D.....1 In order from most common to least common: 43P 44P 45P 42P 45S, 43S 44S 45D, 43D 44D Interesting to see that the finds are grouped by mintmarks, with Philly being the most common, S'Frisco being the 2nd, and Denver being the 3rd. I would love to see how other roll hunters finds turned out. I would do a breakdown of buffalos but they are all mixed in with my others, so I can't tell which ones are which. 11 of these had some sort of lamination issue. Most were very small, but this just shows how common the lamination error was on War Nickels. Thanks for reading, just a spare time thing I decided to do! Edited by rachums107 11/27/2012 7:03 pm

42P - 16 42S - 5 43P - 143 43D - 8 43S - 27 44P - 52 44D - 13 44S - 3 45P - 72 45D - 10 45S - 37
From $32,275 in nickels searched. I'm from just outside of Philly, so that explains the heavy P tilt.

im pretty new to roll hunting, but so far I'm doing alright I think. I've done about 85 rolls and gotten 4 1943 p's. it would of been nice to get some different dates and mints but a War Nickel is a War Nickel. as for buffalo I've found 1. it was on the end of my first roll. I found it at work in the nickel rolls and had to have it. 1927 p.

Murrell, none. My only '50-D was purchased. Mint-state for like, $5 or something, from a guy that only really deals in bullion, lol.

I have found one 1950d. It's posted on page 245 of the nickel searching thread. It's definitely one of my luckiest finds and probably my all time favorite roll find because it completed my Jefferson set from circulation.

Geepers ... I am just a beginner in my nickel roll searching compared to many of you. I've been through 142 boxes so far ... that's 284,000 nickels ($14,200 in face value). I used to post circulation find updates every 20,000 coins ... believe my latest was at 260,000 coins searched ... a forum search should find it ... interesting discussion if you care to read about what I defined as Jefferson nickel 'circulation obsolescence'. Anyways ... 101 total war silver Jefferson for me ... Breakdown is matching what is reported above ... except I am missing the 1943-D (have never found one). That coin, plus the 1938-S will complete my roll-found circulation strike set. 42P - 6 42S - 2 43P - 29 43D - zero 43S - 12 44P- 19 44D - 3 44S - 2 45P - 17 45D - 5 45S - 6 Somewhere as well in the CCF history is a post or two on my MS war silver set ... lovely coins indeed to hold in hand in truly Gem FS condition. David

Nickel, the '43-D was the last war I found. I have two BU sets of War Nickels, one I purchased in a Capitol Plastics holder that is absolutely gorgeous, and a set that was in some cheap cardboard backing that has the most amazing, vibrant rainbow toning you've ever seen on War Nickels. Here's a shot of one of those coins...
