I was able to acquire this Gallienus, I believe it's from the Antioch mint. 260-268 AD.

I don't know what the piece of metal in the right field is, maybe a little flaw in the die?

It has a nice, hard greenish sand patina on it.

Nice looking coin, especially the reverse. I'm unsure of the marking in the right field, but believe it is something more than a flaw.

My guess is a letter indicating the workshop but most of it buried in the sand. With a little imagination I see it as the bottom of an E.

It would be logical that it would be a letter there, but in looking at other examples I didn't see any with a workshop letter in the fields.

Also, on Helvitica's list there is no mention of a field mark for these types. ?

Nice coin!

I find it funny that our modern caduceus has two snakes, but Aesculapius consistently has only one. The snake and staff show well on this coin!
