Purchased a lot of coins today, some of the coins are
Canada bank tokens. I like the looks of these coins.

I am curious if these coins are common.

If these tokens form part of the group of coins you featured in an earlier post then for $40.- I would suggest you made a very good purchase. I don't believe that any of them are that rare but they are not common either and on ebay I have seen the Nova Scotia tokens fetch $5 to $10.- dependent upon condition. These links will give you more background information:-

aigelt7 thanks for the information and for the links. Yes these are part of the group I purchased for $40.

I think they will go good with the Canada coins in my collection.

nice tokens, I wonder what the comparable purchasing power of these tokens would be today if inflation was factored out

It amazes me how tokens like these can be had for relatively very little . Just image the history some of these pieces could tell .

And for me how this group of coins ended up in a small collection in a small town in Florida.

These coins below were the only coins this guy had, other than common U.S silver. And he just wanted to get rid of them. He is shopping his silver around town for the best price. I hope to pick up the silver coins this week.

Canadian "snowbirds" are present in large numbers in Florida in the wintertime. Perhaps someone needed to sell these to cover his plane fare back to Ottawa in the spring!
