500th post With respects. Introducing TF.D. TrueField Detective . Counterfeit silver detection for coins and bullion. An improvement over some current testing methods.

Testing of non magnet, off metals such as German silver, white copper, base metals. Zinc, Tin, Ect.
For looking under silver plate, without burning it off with acid, or filing cuts in it. Testing through slabs,
And tests of other off metal counterfeit alloys used to make replicas of (list is too big) .......but you know that! Is it fake? Did I just buy a cheap forgery? How can I be sure?

We now have a device/tool that answers these important questions, that does not scratch or harm coins. Does low cost, stand alone, presumptive testing of silver. Including 90% Morgan dollars, Peace dollars 10, 25, and 50 cents. 100% silver bullion, bars and rounds.
TFD uses an induced magnetic field to determine the (habit/response) of alloys in question, this results in data that that is used to separate alloys.

I am learning so much here at CCF. I would like to thank members Thank you to bbigffred RIP. Your questions and help, always made me think and work harder! Can you make it less expensive? Can you test gold? Can you not use run-on sentences, and with better grammar!?
Yes ,Yes , and passed too soon...

Big help from colonialjohn and his XRF coins.

And especially Thank You ! Swamperbob for testing, and in pointing out the current limits of TFD in dealing with Sheffield Plate! Their magnetic signatures are a wonderful change. Truly some of the best contemporary counterfeits in the world! It is a privilege to be learning from the masters. Thank you all!

So its a metal detector with discrimination? I'm glad someone's done this! Makes it proper - official, trustable. Great unit! Whats its margins of error?
