Hi, I was wondering what is the best scale to use...relatively good price and accurate.

I bought a cheap scale on ebay...from China for 6 Dollars (yes I should have known better) and it is complete junk. Weighing the same Canadian Maple, lol, gives me a different weight each day and I calibrate it.

Tks

Type scale in the upper left search box. What ever one you get make sure it reads down to at least 0.01.g 0.001 is even better

depending on the difference in maples it might be good still.

weighing some here with a high end scale:
1 - 31.18
2 - 31.14
3 - 31.21

2 and 3 are .07 grams apart

I don't think we're allowed to post links here so I'll just copy and paste what I bought off a well-known E-Retailer

On someone's recommendation I bought: American Weigh Signature Series Black Digital Pocket Scale, 1000 by 0.1 grams
It's plastic and feels a little fragile but works well. I have no complaints. It's the size of a checkbook so you could take it to a coin show no problem.

I would also recommend you pick up a Loupe for looking at the details of coins. I bought a Bausch & Lomb first(supposedly the best) I struggled with the small viewing area and it wasn't working for me(maybe I don't have enough experience)

I returned it and went online and bought this BelOMO 10x Loupe, made it Bellarus of all places, because people said it had a large viewing angle. It was a great purchase for half the cost of the Bauch & Lomb, I'd highly recommend it. Very easy to use and a large crystal clear viewing area.
