What US modern penny dates should I look for I have a bunch of them and just wanted to know what to look for

A 1983 cent that weighs 3.2 grams instead of the normal 2.5 grams of the copper plated zinc core. If you lucky enough to find one you have found a very valuable error coin. There are many error cents in the Lincoln series of coins dated 1959 to 2010. Plus the many coins you will find to place in albums. Good Luck in your searching.

You might want to drill down and learn some other varieties of cents, specifically: 1998-2000 Wide AM's, 1960 small dates, and 1982 small dates. There are many other varieties to hunt for. Here's a Web site that will explain more:

I'm beginning to think a person could easily devote their entire attention to errors and varieties in cents.
