Hear ye, hear ye. As the new year approaches, we want to know how this year has been! Post one, post all. This goes for members and coins!

I did not keep very good track, but here is some of what I found.
100's of wheats
2 2000 WAMs
1972-DDO-008 (i think that was this year!)
3 Liberty nickels
Multiple buffs
multiple proof nickels
50+ War Nickels

1913 Type 2 Buffalo in AU

and lots of other stuff I can't really remember.

New Years Resolution-keep better track of stuff found! I'm sure all of it is in the roll searching threads but that would take forever to look through.

Merry Christmas!

rachums107, I like you did not keep accurate totals this year. I'm going to try harder next year. I just hope it doesn't turn out like my exercise routine every new year.

Since I don't have totals, here is my best find. I found it last week.

My biggest find was an almost solid roll of 40% halves I found earlier this month. 2.5 ounces of silver for $8.50!

I nearly got completely skunked. I did get 8 40% halves and 2 NFIC halves. But then again I probably hunted less than $600 total.

I pulled 100+ silver dimes, couple dozen 40% halves, my best haul for 2012 was probably close to 3,000 wheats in one shot.

Best find was 15 40%'ers, 5 1964's, 26 Franklins and 137 WLH's out of $100 in CWR from a bank near my house.

For the year, I sit at 404 ounces. Still got another week to go before I post my final totals.

I started around october. I've found about 40 wheat pennies and 75 rolls of copper pennies, plus about 50 canadian pennies. id estimate I've done around 200 rolls of pennies.
nickels, 5 1943 p War Nickels, a 1927 buffalo, and a decent amount of pre1960's with under 50 million minted. I've done around 100 rolls.
dimes, 5 silver roosveelt dimes and 1 Mercury dime. I've done around 50 rolls.
quarters, nothing other than some drummer boys. we go through alot of quarters at work so I've checked around 60 or 70 rolls.
a good start imo. :)

I didn't hit the silver hard enough this year. Plenty of wheats, but I need a bigger silver focus next year.

Good scores posted for sure.

My best half dollar score was 296 40% in one box. "The water fountain hoard"
lots of green coins

Roll-Hunting-Totals/Best-Finds-For-2012

A guy 3 hours from me on another board got the twin box the same day, he got around 300 40%, and 1 90%. Very much the same coins with the green all over them.

For dimes and quarters MY best buy was 120 silver quarters for 240$, and 260 silver dimes for 260$. MY brother in law got the same , we split the deal.

40 boxes of dimes, got 35 silvers, 1 was a merc. 15 or so quarter boxes got me nothing.

30-40 nickel boxes got me 35 war nicks, and several buffs. Found 1 War Nickel in coinstar.

For cents, I searched some, but I had one good buy, of 225$ face pennies, yielded about 75% copper, and 1 indian. In addition the same lot got me 50$ in wheats for 100$ with many semi keys (none of the big 5 dates though), and I got 100 Indian cents for 150$ including several semi key dates.

By most accounts I had a good year. I don't keep totals, though I'm thinking about it next year. Halves were rough for me and I'm on an incredible dry run for Indian Head cents but I have some finds that have made up for it. 1909VDB, 1950D Nickel, 1912D Cent, 1964 2 cent piece(reject tray), 1970S Small Date Cent, 1972 DDO Cent, 1881 3 cent nickel (found in dimes), 1914(or some 'teen')New Foundland 10 cent made of sterling silver, 2 silver canadian's (in Oklahoma what). I can't remember any special halves. My best box was probably 30 40%er and a hand full of 90%ers.

HalfHunter, I'm still amazed every time I see your story about you and that other guy. I can't help but think mine was somehow related because the numbers are so close. Mine was 303 with 1 90%er I believe. If I remember, they were all about the same time right? That seems like forever ago. About 80% of mine were 1967. I couldn't help but think there was another box with most of the other years.
