Hi jkol.

Interesting coin you have there. The big "gouge" on the obverse looks like a nice example of a lamination flaw -- note the tail of the "R" inside the end of it. On the reverse though, I have suspicions that you may have some hammer damage. At the top it looks like another penny was pounded into yours -- notice that the "1 CEN" is punched into the penny you have, rather than it projecting out like all the rest of the lettering. PMD, IMO.

And the rim of the penny all around, both sides, is interesting, too. PMD? Mint error? I'm not really sure what to make of it. No doubt someone else will chime in with some good answers on that front.

the extra CENT around CENT is incused (struck in by another coin),

if the gouge on the back is a lamination error it would have had to be before striking or the elements of the R wouldn't been present (dont most laminations happen after striking?)

based on the all the PMD I would go with entirely PMD. even if the lamination is legit it is spoiled by everything else going on.
