Is anybody getting these from the Mint? I got an offer from Littleton this morning in my e-mail, but we all know what Littleton charges for such things. I'd rather ask if someone here will order multiples and sell one to me to continue my set (I'm still Mint-shy--never ordered from there).

Quote: never ordered from there Ltn. puts out decent products but better values can be found. Their surcharge is for the packaging eye candy which commands a premium in many uneducated buyers' opinions. just another opinion with no assistance on the multiple order issue mdpmedia

MD, agreed. That's why I appreciate the Ltn. heads up that the coin is now available, but won't buy it from there. They wanted ten bucks for a 2000-P Sac "UNC" covered in dings!

Nina, This won't help you with your quest for a GC2 dollar, but I suggest for 2013 you wait until March 7th or later and buy the 2013 US Mint Presidential $1 Uncirculated Set (P&D) instead of buying each president separately. You get them all in one shot for $17. That's a little over $2 each, which isn't bad at all compared to what most ebay sellers are getting for individual coins. As long as you don't mind dismantling US Mint packaged sets, that is. -Tom

TJ, thanks for the input! I'll probably come here all jittery looking for someone to hold my hand, LOL . . . buying from new websites makes me nervous.

My LCS orders rolls of the newest dollars and sells them individually for $1.75. My son has been keeping up with the set.

I got a Grover Cleveland 1st term from a local bank a few weeks ago. Not sure how it got into circulation, but they had only one. I'll post again if I find any others. I have had to buy all others from dealers at about $2 each. Did not want to buy whole rolls at a premium from mint and have find a new home for the extras. I did get a Pres Uncirc set from mint but can see obverse unless I open package.

I bought the P & D from an ebay seller. Don't remember what the price was but it wasn't much above face.

I get two mint sets a year, keep one in tact and crack the other one open for my albums. This is a pretty low cost option, I think mint sets are around 2x face value and you usually get great coins. Just be aware that satin coins were issued in mint sets in 2005-2010, so technically this is a different finish from the business strikes.

JG, thanks! I know eventually I'll have to get used to ordering from the Mint if I want to finish my Prez set, but . . . I'm secretly an old codger at heart (set in my ways, hate having to change 'em). Let me know what you'd like in return.
