Just a quick question, I thought that the $5 was recoloured in 1995 and only 1992-93 had the original colour. But in a pawn shop the other week I found a AB02 original colour note. Did they revert back to the old style for a year? Also in circulation I found a $20 with serial number FM07 000 xxx. In used condition. Is that worth keeping at all? Thanks again

You are right, only 1992-93 had the original colour.

Just to confuse things though the 1992 notes didn't have the year included in the serial number. The serial numbers went from AA00 to AB19. So the note you found in the pawn shop was a 1992 $5 note.

As for your $20 note, I doubt it would attract much interest on ebay but if you like the note then keep it. It only cost you $20

That looks like a pretty low Serial No to me. I'd be keeping it!

Ahh I see! Thank you very much for clearing that up. As soon as I wrap my head around how all the Aussie coins and banknotes work/look like I will have to be on a plane back to Canada :(
