In March 2011 I completed the Capital Plastics #460-B 20th Century type set holder. Since then I have acquired several other 20th Century type set holders by Capital Plastics, their 408-P, 460, another 460-B, 490, 591-N (2) and one made expressly for Bowers & Ruddy Galleries.

I took the coins out of the 460-B and inserted them into the 408-P and now the larger holder is finished and it looks great IMHO.

The original 460-B had 23 openings (It will be refilled at a later date.)

Has been transferred to the 36 opening 408-P holder

Now the Capital Plastics #490 and BVD-60 holders are in progress. The 490 has 38 openings including eight gold pieces. The BVD-60 has 32 openings.

Nice holders, I have the BVD-60 and am struggling with which coins to keep in it or transfer to my 7070 set.

Awesome set, I've been wanting to start a type set for a while now, but need to finish a few others first! Thanks for sharing!

Love those holders. Reminds me of the ones my dad had in the 60s.

The coins in the completed 408-P set are:

Cents:
1902 MS-64
1909 V.D.B. MS63 red
1932 MS-65 (Wheat back)
1943-S MS-64 (Steel)
1945-S MS-64 (Shell case)
1970 MS-65 (Memorial)
1986-D MS-65 (Zinc)

Nickels:
1911 MS-64
1913 Type I MS-62 (May be upgraded later with a mintmarked piece)
1917 MS-65
1939-D Ch BU
1945-S Ch BU (Wartime silver)
1970-D Ch BU (Schlag initials)

Dimes:
1910 PCGS MS-64
1916 MS-63 Full bands
1952 Ch BU
1979-D Ch BU

Quarters:
1901 MS-63
1917-S MS-63 Full head (Type I)
1920 MS-63 Full head (Type II)
1942-S MS-65
1970 Ch BU
1776-1976-S MS-65 (40% silver)

Half dollars:
1901 MS-63
1934 MS-63
1955 MS-64
1964 MS-65 (90% silver)
1970-D Ch BU (40% silver)
1979 Ch BU (Copper nickel clad)
1776-1976-S MS-65 (40% silver)

Dollars:
1903 MS-63
1926-S MS-63
1974-S MS-65 (40% silver)
1973 Unc.
1776-1976-S MS-66 (40% silver)
1979-D BU

The 1973 CuNi clad dollar was pulled out of a mint set and may or may not be replaced with a better looking example later. The coin has so little value even in MS-65 that it probably isn't worth the effort to find. I got the '73 mint set when I stopped in a nearby B&M shop to get some Mercury dimes for a 1934-45 holder I am also filling.

Very nice set.

Question....After you fill them, how do you store? Do they hang on the wall for display?

I love these old Capital Plastics holders. Currently, I have a complete Ike set in a black one and a 1965-1980 WQ set in a white one. They are quite cool.

The holder is 12 x 12 inches and is kept in its original box. Most of the holders I have are in their original boxes and the ones that are not I had cloth bags made to put them in. All of my holders are stored in a locked cabinet.

There is one new in the box on ebay which ends tomorrow at 14:53:04, http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-CAPITAL...em416f6b9331

This holder originally was priced by Capital Plastics at $104.75.
