I see the latest CCN had a two page spread on IOF medals authored by Lewis Tauber.

I am not sure if Lewis is on this site but maybe someone here is in touch....?

His article feautured a picture of a medal that is a very near match for one that was given to my grandfather.

I would love to know the meaning of the initials LBC on the medal if anyone knows....I assume it is the name of the branch or order he belonged to. I would also love to be able to put an approximate date on it....I would guess 1920 to 1925.

Here is a photo of it....still in its original case.

I may have partly answered my own question. Here is another medal which I guess is also an IOF medal. This one is engraved with my gradfather's name and dated 1923 so the date is at least pinned down.

Any help on what the legends mean would still be most interesting!!
