Have done a bit of research with no luck. All I have found out for sure is the date is 1969. I believe it is of middle eastern origin but have searched currency for every country I can think of with no luck.

Pictures were originally right side up and looked more clear. Seems resizing them for the forum may be the cause. If they are not clear enough to provide identification then I can always take better ones.

It reminds me of a coin from Sudan I once had. Maybe Google that and you could find something. That's all the information I have. Good Luck.

Iran and Afghanistan use a different calendar to the rest of the Muslim world. This coin is dated SH 1389, which does indeed correlate to AD 2010.
