Today I received the last of the six coins required to fill the Capital Plastics Morgan dollar All MInts holder. I have tried and somewhat succeeded at filling this holder with coins that were similarly toned on the side facing up. The '97-S doesn't look as white in hand as the photo makes it appear to be and is the only one that would possibly be replaced with an S mint coin with a little more color over the entire surface of the coin.

Top row:
Plain - Philadelphia 1889 MS-63 (PCGS)
Obverse 1887 MS-63 (Raw)
D - Denver 1921 MS-64 (PCGS)

Bottom row:
CC - Carson City 1884 MS-64(PCGS)
O - New Orleans 1899 MS-63 (PCGS)
S - San Francisco 1897 MS-64 (NGC)

Great job. As was asked here, what ideas do you have for your next steps?

Wow... the San Fran, New Orleans, and the Obverse example are amazing... This may be too forward, but what did you have to pay for those? And how long did it take you to find these?

Ed ... very nice. Are those holders currently available? I have been thinking of doing the same but also representing the 5 decades they were minted.

I bought the first coin for this set in August, the last three in the last month.

Yes this holder is still currently available. I got mine off of ebay for less than what they are in a retail shop. There is also a holder that holds five silver dollars without any text so you can put whatever you want in it.

ebay is a good source for deeply discounted Capital Plastics holders new and used, current and out of production, you just have to be patient and eventually what you are looking for will be listed.

As far as silver dollars go, I have a holder for the dollars of 1878. It has openings for the 8TF, 7TF, 8/7TF, CC and S mint coins. That will probably be the last set of Morgans for the foreseeable future. I have two 20th Century type set holders, a Mercury dime holder (1934-45), the Liberty Seated coinage type set currently in progress. Those will keep me broke for the next few years.
