Had to post this...

.50 cent roll of pennies from Bank of America here in California and this was in it! Kind of a shock but a nice one. Not even sure how this could happen, it sticks out like a sore thumb. It has some scratches on it and a big abrasion across the bottom of the head dress you cant really see in the pictures. Maybe from a coin counter?

Picture is not great, I forgot to take a picture before I put it in a holder.

Anyone know what grade this would be? I dont have gold coins, this is my first!

You make me want to say "Oh, there it is!"

But I can't, you should go to Vegas while you are hot.

No way!

Seems like an F-12, judging by the lack of detail on the end of the man's headdress feather @ 5 o'clock. I'm not a pro grader.

Wait, I just thought of something. This could have been a "drop" of sorts. A drop, for those who don't know, is where someone takes a rare or different coin and puts it back into circulation. Maybe, instead of circulation, they were roll hunters who wanted to give some other hunter a New Years gift.

That's a pretty sweet way to get your first gold coin.

Grade? You got a piece of gold for one cent...and it's really old.
