swamperbob Pillar of the Community United States 5362 Posts	Posted 01/01/2013 12:16 pm I do not know the face value of this coin but do not overlook a circulating counterfeit. Counterfeit coins are still being made and used. England now estimates that 3 out of every 100 pound coins in circulation is a forgery. They are rather well made and can be difficult to distinguish from a typical worn dinged up original. So if this coin has a face value over $1US I would wonder about it being a fake.
