Most of the replicas were made in 2003 by Carlson Chambliss. The serial numbers are the same as they were made from copies of notes in his collection. These copies are all marked COPY on the back.

If you are really interested on MPC I recommend subscribing to the MPCGram a free e-newsletter that covers all military numismatics but concentrates on WWII and later. You may also be interested in the MPCFest held annually in Port Clinton OH. It is three days of nothing but military money and includes a bourse, educational programs, topical meetings, an auction and time to her to know people like Fred Schwan, Joe Boling, Neil Shafer and other devotees of military numismatics. This years MPCFest is March 15-17.

To get the MPCGram send an email to MPCGram@Yahoo.com. You will find information about the MPCFest in the MPCGram.

Chambliss also has a new book out titled "A Concise Catalog of U.S. Military Payment Certificates". In addition to an all-color reference to MPC's and their values it has a section on detecting counterfeit ones. Well worth the $26 to avoid getting taken.

Hi lettow,
Do you have any other contact for the MPC guys, I sent them a few e mails but never got a response. I've been to Port Clinton OH. many times so know just where it is but never knew that there was a MPC get together there.
