I work at a bank and came across this bill today and I noticed it because it stuck out. The seal on the left was way darker than any of the others I had seen.

I looked at it closely and it is not filled in with a pen or a marker. How rare is this?

$20-Error?

I run through a LOT of bills in a day. Is there anything I should keep an eye out for? I mainly just run through newer bills with the occasional small faced bill.

Yea I've found a lot of star notes and looked them up online and they were from a big batch or just in really crappy shape so I didn't hang on to them.

I've found a $1 birthday note that is in my drawer(forgot the number and don't have a picture though) and also a $5 with the number 00004096. Is that one considered fancy? I know people like low serial numbers but I'm not sure if people would consider that low.

Thanks for responding!

I think that the rule is that it should have at least 5 leading zeros, but that is a close one it would definetly be a keeper if the 4 was a zero.

Bummer lol. Oh well I guess I'll just keep looking. I have about $600 in $1 I still need to look through in my drawer that I was just too lazy to do today.

If it was my find, I would spend that very minor over inked seal since it is not at least CU. Even CU would be tough to sell for much of a premium. This one is too circulated.

If I had your job, I would spend most of my time looking through new packs of notes first, then if I had spare time look through the circs. Look for low serials, stars, any fancy numbers (radars, repeaters, binaries, matching serials), etc.

Yea I've been looking through what new ones we get, mainly just hundreds and some 50's(20's go straight to the ATM) and haven't found anything interesting yet. I've found some that are close to binary and repeaters but just one number off. I guess I will just keep looking then lol.

Thanks for the input!
