Hello everybody, I am a Canadian coin hunter and I very often hunt circulation rolls of coins. I use CIBC but, I was wondering what banks you guys use and, if they are any better for coins.

I believe that brinks supplies CIBC with all of the coin boxes and, I can not find any post 2001 5c, 10c, or 25c!

Do any of you know of a Canadian bank that has does not get coins from brinks.

Please help.

I use TD. I do not know if they get coins from brinks but in my experience they do not.

I get coins from my local RBC, and rarely from a couple of other RBC locations. It seems when they run low on a given denomination they order more from other RBC branches, or occasionally from other banks. A couple of times I have gotten boxes of coin straight from the mint.

I am surprised to hear that you can't find the newer coins when buying boxes - usually it goes the other way around.

I just go to my local rbc branch, a very nice lady helps me there, she saves the CWR (customer wrapped rolls) for me as those have a higher chance of being silver or "rare". most times that she ordered boxes of quarters for me, they came straight from the mint and were crap because nothing OLDER than 2001. So I just give her a week to collect the coin and come pick it up when I have the time.

I got to Bank Of Montreal. I also get CWRs there. I mainly search pennies and quarters with the odd $100 in dimes. Only once in the last year have I been given a sealed box of mint fresh pennies...other then that all CWR.

Do certain banks use certain carriers like Brinks or is it more based on location and just use the most convenient. I am trying to find out how to avoid as many pre-picked rolls as possible.
