I went to my local coin dealer today on the way home from the hospital. I figured the wife was sleeping anyways so why not, after all it's an hour drive one way.

So taking advantage of the low silver values, I was looking at one of two boxes Morgan scrap coins. On my right another fellow doing the same. But as I haven't slept in 35hrs I must have been a little awnry when the shop owner tossed another Morgan my/our way. As murphy's law would have it, the fellow on my right and I acted like we were ninja's and grabbed it simultaneously.

Well a tug of war ensued and I lost (danged arthritis).

What do you think it was?

188? CC Morgan dollar ! It positively had NO last digit from damage and believe me several people looked. Well let's just say I forgot my manners and wanted it, along with you know who. So, .... rock paper scissors was the decider, I lost.

Oh, how much did the fellow pay for it? $27.50

All I got was a 1921P Morgan BU for 27.50

I really need to learn perspective.

Should have played Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock. The extra two options would have kept him off his game.

Unless it just resulted in a never ending tie with everyone picking spock.

That was actually my first thought when I read the rock paper scissors part

You should have done Glock, Paper, Scissors. Then announced "I've got Glock. What do you got?"

CoinSKelly,

I lived in Buras, Louisiana for one year. I spent MANY hours hunting the flea market across from Algiers. Never been to Mardi Gras. This was back in 1991.

No kidding! Back then the flea market there was pretty awesome (I once picked up a framed marriage certificate from the 1880's for $3). Unfortunately now all the sell is tourist...ummm...stuff

Be careful out there, Fatman.
Not everyone is going to care about you the way that we do.
