here's a couple other budget spanish coins I picked up...another one is posted in the current smackdown. there are supposedly the same coin, but I like how the two complement each other. actually, wish I could combine the best features of both of them into one coin!

i took the first picture on my computer table to prove I have some non-crap furniture. but then decided they look better on my good old coin cleaning table. or maybe the old crappy table make my coins look better?

Interesting coins, interesting to see to see the far reach of Greek culture.


Oh and by the way...that could just be a nicer section of that very same table...proves nothing...

I think this is a sentiment of many of us. Corduba was called Colonia Patricia when these coins were struck. I was in Corduba last year (2011). I highly recommend a visit if you have the chance.

hey bing, thanks for that, you just helped me figure out something. in the same lot got a coin with a wreath and "ivlia trad" in the middle...had seen some with colonia patricia ...so that's where it was minted! Julia Traducta!
