So my antique mall has a 1963A $1 Butterfly error note. Sorry a dont have pics atm. The error is in The lower left corner af almost 90° and goes far enough to cover the district number and the first letter and number of the serial number, which is Not fancy. I do not know if the error is both 2nd print and 3rd print. Or only 3rd print.
I was not able to handle the bill in person because they couldnt find the key to the.cabinet it was in. $85 is the on sale price of it. It appears.to be in XF- AU+. I wanted to pick it up, but obviously couldnt.
Anyone know if this is a good deal? On HA see notes with larger folds on the right side going for $300 to $600, but didnt see any on the left side. ebay had one completed.for $150. But thats all I could find. It sounds good to me but figured id double check here first while I wait for them to find the keys.

Since it is in a relatively good grade, it sounds like a very good price. Go for it. You already checked some comps.

I would need to see a picture to tell which printing the error occurred though. Sounds like a nice find to me.

Alright I finally picked up today. I can't stop staring at it. My first error note. The error is on the 3rd print only. And I was wrong about the grade, its more likely VF-XF. Not sure if the staining is soiling or foxing? It still very crisp. And here are pics!

GC, I don't know if it's a good price or not, but I would have bought it too.

Good purchase.

My opinion - XF maybe, but too many folds and too soiled to make an AU.

Nice corner fold error. What happened is the 1/2 sheet being fed into the COPE process got folded on the lower left corner. You can tell that by the sheet position of D2.

IMHO, great error and worth the price.

This would probably grade like a VF 20, the stains should be acceptable for the grade. Not sure about the value, but it a great find.
