I have some Sterling Silver Flatware. I don't know whether they have collector value or just melt value. There are six pieces each type. Here are the markings. The teaspoon. The fork. The salad fork. The knife (stainless blade).

That is Gorham's MEDICI pattern and it is still available on their website. A 5 piece dinner setting is selling for $1,360. I don't think you could sell it for anything near that amount. But it is most certainly worth something.

This is the very stuff that flea market/garage sale/estate sale hunter's fondest fantasy dreams are made of.

Sterling flatware can do better than melt but unless it's a hot pattern or made by Tiffany, Cartier or anything early American Colonial silver (I'm sure I've left some out), melt is about average. Check your pattern on ebay and see what kind of money it will bring. Keep in mind that dinner knife handles weigh around 1/2 ounce each. I always calculate 2 handles for 1 ounce. Butter knives and small luncheon knives are more of guesswork (for me).

That's a nice pattern! I'd guess it would do good at auction.

Some of my buyers pay me as 1/2 ounce without destroying them. The days I did rip them apart was time consuming with the occasional cut finger.
If you run the set through a local auction and the set does 20 percent over spot, you'll just lose the gains after you pay sellers premium.
Back when silver was 6 dollars an ounce I sold a set of S. Kirk & Son Repousse pattern for 1900 dollars. This was around 30 dollars per ounce. Today, it would probably bring the same price. This is what happens when the metal value outpaces the collector value.

If you have a LCS, get their quote. Really too nice to melt.

There are companies that sell items like this to those missing pieces. You might want to check them out prior to selling for scrap. Just a thought since they look in very good shape. I was lucky to pick up a few pieces of silver like this at melt cost from a garage sale. Silver has many antibacterial and anti viral properties, so you may just want to use them!
