Has this any value at all in this condition?

Would it even grade as Good, with what looks like a pitted surface?

that coin has the value its owner puts on it as part of the collection...thats a dark, crusty beauty IMO which has traveled the last 185 years and been a great service to many past citizens of this great country...imagine how many kids had that rattling in their piggy bank...or how many shop owners had that in their cash tills in exchange for you name it...

nice cent

It grades a lot better than you think it falls right under Fine detail, but... the environmental damage will knock you back G+ to VG.

Thanks guys, I'm amazed given the general wear/damage that 'liberty' stands out so well. Got this in a lot for not much & its made me want to get a better grade.

or how it found its way accross the pond! I'd like to imagine it got here via some merchant in the late 1800's rather than a $10 purchase on ebay
