I also found a 2004 Student design in good condition, I have never seen one before, is that a good find?

It has quite a few small rim dings but would probably still cling
to an Uncirculated grade

Thanks maybe I will go into a local coin shop and get them to look at it, I'm new to this grading thing, I usually just keep them if they are commemorative.

Ben; the thing about commemorative, is that this one, and the 1981 as the first commemorative released was that they were hoarded at the time, but are being re-released into the wild - is why you find them in such high grades.

Mum put away about 20 1981, in 1981 - maybe a month ago she just threw em back into the bank jar.

Theres too many marks for UNC in my opinion. It is really only worth 50c. Its still great when you find nice old coins though.

You should be able to find these in the red specimen cases for only a few dollars.
