Hello,

I was looking for my first:
- Ike dollar
- Peace dollar
- Morgan dollar
- Franklin half
- Walker half
- Indian Head penny

Today I found my first Ike ..and.. not just one, but 11 of them, including bicentennial one. I got these from somebody at face value. None silver, but that doesn't matter for now.

Just wanted to share my joy with my coin family here :)..

Yey..

Lets see when I find others in my list at reasonable value/trade.

My-First-Ike..

I just realized that probably I should have posted this topic in "Modern US coins" forum. If forum-admin can move this topic there that would be great.

Congrats! Even though Ikes may never be considered particularly rare or valuable, many of us have fond memories of them from our childhoods and it's always nice to see some.

Thanks for sharing.

There is nothing better than finding a collectible coin at face value. I have been hunting the same coins for awhile now and I have a moderate size bag of them. But more is always better.

Now if I could only find a 1909 S VDB at face I wouldn't ask for anything more until tomorrow.

Actually I never new that Ikes are so much bigger in size as compared to other dollars... RedBook didn't mention this or I missed it somehow.. so I was hunting dollar bank rolls like crazy, but never got any ike.. that was a rookie mistake..

any way, now I will start looking for specific variations in ike.

Yeah, with the Susan B. Anthony dollar the coins became smaller. The Ike's, Peace and Morgan dollars are larger then the current small dollars.
