Sorry to hear about your loss. Sometimes people just flat out suck. I'm still trying to figure out how to replace some of my stolen collection. Bleah.

Tiberius, echoing others' sentiment that I wish the circumstances were better, but and I hope we can be of help!

Unfortunately, your wheats and other commons are *probably* gone forever. (I say "probably" because lots of petty thieves are also morons, and you never know when some idjit's going to walk into a pawn shop with your whole collection in a bag.) However, it appears you have some gorgeous photos of at least some of your coins--have you provided these to the police? It may be possible that someone will recognize them.

Did you ask the investigator in charge of the case if they checked every establishment near the hotel for video tape? You'd think that is the first thing the cops would do but I wouldn't assume anything if it was my collection. I know I would visit those local businesses in person and at least ask.
