PCGS MS-63 1800 Half Dime Goes Missing

An 1800 Half Dime (PCGS MS63), certification number 26795849 has been reported missing. The coin was sent by CAC to Heritage Auctions in Dallas between January 7th and 8th.

i don't know much about American coins but do you know how a 24,000$ coin went missing in the mail?
