A friend has an old unused Whitman Classic Lincoln Cents 1909- album 9112, copyright 1978. Is this album safe with no PVC? We are pulling cents from a old green Popular Album by Wayte Raymond Inc. and I know these are PVC contaminated. I am cleaning all with acetone with good results.
Thanks for the help.

As far as I know, there are no PVC materials in the Whitman Classic albums.

Almost all of my Albums, over 100, are Whitman Classic Albums. Prior to those I used the earlier versions with pages that were not removable. Non of my coins are effected by the Albums and for many, many years, no problems at all. Not sure for how long but for as long as there have been Whitman Albums, my coins are mostly in those.
Whitman got sort of a bad reputation due to all the selling of the company in the past. Now owned by Harris. Quality went down for a while but now really pretty good again.

I really enjoy my Whitmans. That's what I keep my "from circulation" sets in. I love the look of the blue covers and gold letters. The font is pleasing too.
