It's a little thicker than a genuine coin and there is no edge reeding. Maybe the blank edge is where they planned to stamp it with 'Made in China'. However, if you were buying it based on grainy, auction house photos of the surfaces (like I did) it could fool you. Thankfully I only had a minimal investment.
If anyone is interested in the study of counterfeit coins I'd be happy to donate it for just the cost of postage. Otherwise it has a date with my hacksaw.
