I was happy to find this coin in my change, but not sure about the edge, PMD or is it something else?

It may have been caused by a coin roller, but I don't know what it is supposed to look like, so I wouldn't know. I hope you find out!
Happy Hunting!

Hi snappy I think it has been stamped slightly off centre. It is quite common especially on centenary 50c coins.

Definitely NOT a partial collar. As others have suggested it is just a slightly off centre strike, a very common occurrence on 2001 50c coins.

My apolos snappy , I thought for it to be an off centre strike both sides would have to be off centre the same amount. (Hence since you've showed one side, I thought it must be the only side off centre, which I thought meant the retaining collar was loose ..... It must be one misaligned die I guess).

I have several examples of 2001's with one side perfect the other like your images and also ones where both sides are off centre to the same degree.

I'll go back into my hole
