I wanna send a few NCLT coins to NGC like the 2007 gold platted rattle or the 2007 wedding dollar as they are with a very low mintage and mine seems to be " perfect " without any color change or anything on it ... But I still cannot understand as I've seen one of those that also seemed pretty decent without any defects and it came as a pf-66 :/ Do you guys can actually see the difference between a pf 68, 69, and 70 under a 5x magnitude ? What exactly should you look for, I mean non of them has any scratches or anything else. And also, as it is a Canadian coin, is it a bad idea to send it to NGC ? Should I better pick a Canadian TPG ? Thanks for any help. Collecting coins for a long time, but first time dealing with grades, so any help is welcome

well its always better to have Canadian coins graded by Canadian graders..but if you want better - higher grades then the US graders are the way to go..Just remember if re selling later our TPG sells better

with these 2007 silver loonies, who ever you choose to TPG with you must pay they extra to have the mintage designatio mentioned on the slab. pcgs charges extra for this designation and in the long run will add more value, but cost a fortune to slab. all the value in these coins are its low mintage, untill recently not many collectors were aware of these silver loonies.

It would be a waste of money to send them to NGC IMO. If you want them protected, CCCS hard holder.

CCCS does hard cover, but is it one like NGC where the coin is closes inside and cannot be taken out and there is no contact with the atmosphere ?
P.S. Thanks for the help guys

The ironic thing about the persistent ditzing on ICCS, and rah rah CCCS for the hard slab, is how few people have actually made a hard slab available for sale. So, it's understandable why you haven't seen one. It's somewhat like PCGS', and fairly attractive. Colonial Acres has a few cross-certified CCCS slabs on ebay right now: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw...=3377&_dmd=1

the cccs hard slabs are really nice slabs, but carries no or very little acceptance in the US market.

Personally, I would send them to ICCS because of their Canadian reputability.

i like CCCS but 20$ for a certification can suck when you're sending 6 coins in, where as ICCS charges around 12$ for 6 coins! unless they're silver dollars (soft flips suck for dollars) I can't find it in myself to spend 20$ to grade!
but stick with CCCS or ICCS, PCGS can be good but NGC and ICG are a hugh red flag!
