Here are better pictures of the coin I posted elsewhere. I'm still unsure what to make of it. At first it seemed MS but the hair detail just above the braid and the braid itself seem lacking in details. On the reverse, the left foreleg looks a little worn. Given that all but one of the rest of our buffs are in poor to good condition, I am not comfortable with assessing higher grades. Still wondering if it was plated. Opinions on this? Grade?

Neither coin from these two threads appears to be plated. The braid and hair above the braid are commonly found without much detail and the same goes for the leg on the bison. The coins from both threads look to be at least Ch AU.

Problem free based on your photos, nice pictures!

I'd say AU55. Slight wear on braid and leg.

I say MS-62. I can't see an obvious rub on the pics. It might be there making it a technical AU-58, which would still market grade low MS. It's slightly valuable either way.

I'd call them both 64's.

It is good that you posted these since I have been buying low graded coins and want to see what the horns look like on a higher grade coin.
